We held the first two premieres of the season.
The first, on 7 October, was the premiere of Kedd at Kamra. Directed and written by Gergely Kocsis.
"Somewhere in Budapest they forgot to close a pub. No one had an eye on turning it into a gold mine. Maybe because it's in the wrong place. It's not well endowed. It has no potential.
It was just left there, forgotten. With people in it. With people. They were forgotten too. They didn't even notice. Maybe they don't have the right gifts either.
They talk, they talk, they talk. When they get tired of talking, they sing. Maybe the language of music will make the time pass faster. Maybe the light will come sooner, and you can tell it's getting closer to evening.
Because then maybe it will get better. It used to be better." (Gergely Kocsis)

And after that, on 8 October, we presented EMBTRAG, based on texts by Imre Madách and Ádám Nádasdy, directed by Kriszta Székely at Katona.
"In The Tragedy of Man, Madách invites us on a grand journey. He asks questions that are age-old to humanity, and finds answers that are sometimes uplifting, sometimes despairing. We, too, want answers, we want to know why we struggle, but we suspect that the Great Context can never be stated as a single, precise statement. We try and we fail, until our lives come to an abrupt end on an ordinary Wednesday afternoon. Adam and Eve are guided on their journey by Lucifer, sharing knowledge, but the deceptive notions of 'truth' and 'reality' fall apart around them again and again. My co-creators and I were motivated to read our national drama as a contemporary text and create a performance in which we do not bow before Madách's linguistic and dramaturgical bravura, but allow ourselves to associate, juxtapose, magnify, reframe themes, and to seek out the stages and defining situations of human life, rather than lining up historical tables. In other words, we invite those who are concerned with similar questions on a new journey." (Kriszta Székely)
