Tamara Török

Tamara graduated as a dramaturg from the University of Theatre and Film in 2003, after graduating from the Italian and English departments of ELTE University, Budapest. Since then, she has been a dramaturg at the Katona Theatre and has taught at the Italian Department of ELTE University. In 2009 she obtained her PhD, with her dissertation on Carlo Goldoni and 18th-century Venetian theatre. She translates plays and novels. As a dramaturg, she regularly worked in Gábor Zsámbéki’s and Gábor Máté’s prductions. She is also responsible for developing the international relations of the Katona. In 2017 she was awarded the Lajos Bálint Ring for dramaturgs, and in 2025 the Special Prize of the Theatre Critics’ Award.
