The Champion, As you like it - March premieres in Katona

On our main stage The Champion written and directed by Béla Pintér opens in 19 March."Last year Gábor Máté invited me to direct at the Katona József Theatre. I asked for time to consider. One evening, on the balcony at home, I was istening again to Puccini’s opera Il tabarro, when suddenly a story set in modern-day Hungary occurred to me. I accepted the invitation.

Ascher directs The Seagull, Viripajev opens in Kamra

We are closing 2015 with two premieres: on our main stage Chekhov's The Seagull opens in 20 December, directed by Tamás Ascher. On Kamra stage Péter Gothár directs Russian playwright Ivan Viripajev's The Drunks, premiering on 19 December.

Both productions will be regularly on show from January 2016.
